This section of my website is all about Solaris (the OS not the film, although I dig Tarkovsky). In fact Sun Microsystems refer to Solaris as an operating environment as opposed to a "mere" operating system - read all about it on www.sun.com.
As a Systems Manager I have been living and breathing Solaris for longer than is healthy and would like to share some of my knowledge. Unfortunately there are too few hours in the day but at least I have made a start.
As you can probably tell from my spartan website I am a bit of a minimalist and as such I find the Solaris install and boot processes hideously complex. In an effort to understand what goes on I spent a good while stripping things down to the bare bones and have produced a simple miniboot system.
Here is a summary of my efforts to get LDAP working nicely under Solaris 8.
