UK Financing

2006-07-06

Last year I abandoned my plan to buy a farm in Wales with friends but not before we had registered a housing co-op. We registered it through Catalyst and since it still exists I have had to file a 2005 annual return which was a pain. Once that has been approved by the FSA I will have to decide what to do with the co-op. We could either wind it up, keep it running in case we want to do something in future with it (though that will incur an annual fee) or transfer it to another group.

The average population density in the UK is roughly one person per acre. Combined with a high standard of living and a culture of debt this crowding has lead to ludicrous property prices. This purpose of this page is to gather useful information about the financial aspects of setting up any sort of intentional community in the UK.
