Modemac just posted Francis E. Dec fans - help is needed in alt.discordia. It asks for help with the Francis E. Dec Wikipedia page. I had a look and followed the link to MP3s of six of his rants on the website of WFMU radio. Listen at your peril:-)

I attended the RAW London Memorial on Sunday and it was most enlightening. We started out at one of Bob's favourite haunts in London, the Atlantis Bookshop on Museum Street. The owner walked with us and talked about some of the lesser known local landmarks. We stopped for a drink at an Irish pub across the street from Freemasons Hall and raised our glasses to toast Bob. Later we found ourself down by the river under Blackfriars Bridge at the site where Roberto Calvi was found hanging on June 17th 1982. It is generally assumed that he was killed and then hung in that particular spot for symbolic and ritualistic reasons. Later in the evening we watched Maybe Logic at a venue in Brick Lane and stayed on to listen to an eclectic DJ set. Several of the people present knew each other through the Maybe Logic Academy. I am going to have to get myself a copy of RAW's book "Email to the Universe".
There will be a Robert Anton Wilson London Memorial on Sunday 18th February.
Jesse Walker, writing at Reason Magazine, informs us that libertarian novelist, journalist, humorist and philosopher Robert Anton Wilson died at about 4.50 this morning, Pacific Coast time. He quotes from RAW's last known blog entry:
Various medical authorities swarm in and out of here predicting I have between two days and two months to live. I think they are guessing. I remain cheerful and unimpressed. I look forward without dogmatic optimism but without dread. I love you all and I deeply implore you to keep the lasagna flying.
Please pardon my levity, I don't see how to take death seriously. It seems absurd.
Douglas Rushkoff reports that Robert Anton Wilson Needs Our Help. Apparently his infirmity and depleted finances have put him in the precarious position of not being able to meet next month's rent. I have just sent a small contribution.
